About the program
Journey of Hope is a trauma-informed early intervention program which help children and young people understand and normalise their emotions while building coping strategies as they navigate the challenges of growing up.
Whether it’s difficulties with friends or family, mental health challenges or a collective trauma experience like natural disasters, Journey of Hope equips children and young people with the skills and understanding they need to better navigate these shocks and bounce back stronge
Journey of Hope ensures long term benefits for school aged children by promoting peer-to-peer supports and learning strategies that equip children to deal with future challenges. The program also acts as an additional support layer for local teachers to support their students’ mental health.
54 reasons works collaboratively through Journey of Hope with schools, health professionals and other community groups to better understand local need and connect children and young people with broader community support. Our facilitators are trained to identify additional mental health and other needs of students participating in the program and can make referrals to other services to continue the ongoing healing of children and young people beyond the program.
