About the program
Young people can become involved in the justice system for many reasons – but with the right support, there are opportunities to change direction.
Kununurra Youth Justice Services works with children and young people aged 9–17 who are involved in, or at risk of involvement in, the justice system. Through trauma-informed, strengths-based case management and one-to-one mentoring, the program helps young people build skills, strengthen connections and address underlying challenges.
The focus is on early intervention and diversion, supporting young people to stay connected to family, culture, education and community, and reduce ongoing involvement with the justice system.
