Strength2Strength
Engaging culturally diverse men and boys in primary prevention of gendered violence.

Overview
Exploring and reframing attitudes towards manhood, masculinity, relationships and gendered violence with migrant and refugee young men and boys in Armadale, WA.
Who is this program for
Strength2Strength is targeted at young men and boys from migrant and refugee backgrounds who have been identified as being at higher risk of engaging in the use of violence.
About the program
Strength2Strength partners with schools, community leaders and cultural groups to deliver workshops to young men and boys aimed at shifting attitudes and behaviours around the use of violence.
We know that 1 in 3 migrant and refugee women in Australia reported to have experienced domestic and family violence. This violence is often hidden or unreported because talking about family violence - and in particular sexual violence - is considered a taboo in some communities.
Strength2Strength engages cultural community leaders, groups and services to identify participants who are considered at risk and to tailor workshop content to the specific issues experienced by the target community group.
